As most of you know, the BP oil spill has finally been "contained." The sealing cap system has been in place for a few days and it looks as if it is holding. We can only hope and pray that no more oil leaks into our beautiful seas. Join all of us at Autom as we pray for those affected by these events.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We adore You and praise You God. You truly care for all Your people. Your Word tells us, “The Lord’s are the earth and its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the rivers” (Psalm 24:1-2).

We belong to You, Lord! All of us—people, animals, birds, the very seas and the earth itself—were formed by Your Word. You call us to be stewards of Your beautiful creation, with a stewardship that serves, is generous, and brings honor to Your name.

Have mercy on the departed and their families. Guide and protect those working to end the flow of oil into the Gulf and to clean up its effects on land and sea. Console all who have suffered and restore them and their livelihoods. Help us all to return to You.

"Let Your mercy, O Lord, rest upon us, even as our hope has rested in You."
