Prayer for the People of Japan
Dear Heavenly Father, we praise and thank You today for who You are: Our eternal God who never faints nor grows weary. We lift up to You today the people of Japan in their hour of suffering as they seek to survive and recover from the triple assaults of earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear crisis.
In the name of Jesus, we ask You to pour out Your divine Mercy on everyone affected by this tragedy. We stand against the power of the enemy and plead the precious blood of Your Son Jesus over everyone afflicted. Bless and strengthen all those working feverishly to locate survivors and bring food, clothing, and shelter to those left devastated by this tragedy.
Help us also, dear God, respond both in faith and action, according to your Word:
“Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40). Dear Mother Mary, Our Lady of Akita, please pray for us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
